Hannah "HK" Chartier slashing while wakesurfing on Lake Austin. Babe Shredder is stoked to announce the addition of two new Chapter Leads in Colorado, Hannah "HK" Chartier and Ali Gates. The babes join Chapter Lead, Courtney Kenny, based in Grand Junction, to bring the Babe Shredder presence to Colorado's Front Range. HK and Ali met in Austin, Texas, where both were active in the Babe Shredder Texas chapter wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and barefoot waterskiing. Both women bring unique backgrounds to the Babe Shredder organization, but both are excited to bring the stoke to all women wanting to get outdoors! HK originally fell in love with Babe Shredder back in her hometown of Austin when the Texas chapter formed around ladies nights at the local cable parks. She was fortunate enough to grow up around the lakes and hills of central Texas and considers herself a freshwater mermaid at heart - getting to wakeboard, waterski, surf, rock climb, and hike year-round. In recent years, she's added scuba diving and inline skating to her short list of favorite hobbies. Since recently moving to Denver, she has taken advantage of the natural climate and landscape to improve her snowboarding skills and looks forward to growing the Colorado Babe Shredder crew! If she's not out exploring, you can generally find HK with her dog, Moose, propped up in a hammock somewhere with a view. Ali Gates is a Colorado native recently returned home after living in Austin, Texas for two years. Ali connected with Babe Shredder at the local cable park for Ladies Night and was drawn to the community, athleticism, and positivity of the group - attributes she strives to bring to the Colorado Chapter. An avid lake lover, Ali began competing in wakeboarding in her home state in 2016, and added to her repertoire in Austin with cable riding, wake surfing, and barefoot waterskiing. Ali's passion is to not only promote women in outdoor sports, but also encouraging them to compete, so Babe Shredder is a natural fit for her energy and enthusiasm. Ali balances her lake time with mountain biking, alpine touring, sand volleyball, rock climbing, and snowboarding, and enjoys throwing new activities into the mix, as well.
