![]() Courtney Kobold is a surprising 22 years young and already has accomplished so much both in wakeskating and her personal career. She’s proud to be a part of the BabeShredder community, she says, “there’s something about being able to represent a company, whose main purpose is to encourage females to get out and try board sports. That makes me feel at home." She learned to ride with a few high school friends in her hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. Her first ride had her hooked, and she continued to ride about twice a week for the rest of the summer. Wakeboarding has taught her to value patients, and she’s been able to carry that lesson into her professional life as well. It’s a tangible example of how picking yourself up and trying again will lead to bigger and better mistakes, and success. Courtney is currently searching for other women riders in South Carolina, which has turned out to be a bit of a challenge. She hopes to set up a girls ride out on Lake Murray once she’s sat down with Carolina Wake and recruited some BabeShredders. At the same time, she’ll be earning her Masters of Social Work, so she can better help out her community in South Carolina. After graduation she’s hoping to take a year off and do a lot of traveling over seas, stopping at a bunch of wakeboard cable parks along the way. She says, “I want to meet up with other BabeShredders around the world and help at clinics or BabeShredder days at cable parks. I also want to help encourage any and every BabeShredder I meet along my way!” By Bayley Ehlinger Hear more & visit Courtney's profile here!
