![]() BabeShredder Dylan Sifford is a local snowboarder at Bogus Basin near Boise, Idaho and an active voice for female riders in the community. The past two years Dylan and fellow babe shredder friends have taken on the initiative to host the Mamma Jamma Rail Jam - an all-girl snowboard and ski park competition. The idea for the Mamma Jamma Rail Jam started when Dylan noticed a decline in female participation at local park competitions. "Girls were discouraged to participate because of the lack of sponsorship and attention towards the female divisions" said Dylan. Female riders were receiving significantly less prizes than male riders when both divisions required the same entry fee and had similar numbers of riders competing. "It all seemed a little unfair" said Dylan. That is where the Mamma Jamma Rail Jam has stepped in and offered a new way of doing things. This competition provides an encouraging environment for new and advanced female riders and better prize packages for all participants. Dylan said "it is exciting to be doing our own thing and pushing the level of female riding together!" By Ash Hannig Photos provided by Dylan Sifford |
